About The Awards Group...
Founded in 2006 by veteran PR executive Kim Reed and director/television production coordinator Karen
Douglass, The Awards Group principals realized that a huge hole existed in the awards submission
process throughout the television industry. Not only do most production companies, distribution
companies, syndication companies, broadcast networks and cable services lack the manpower to
properly solicit nominations and awards that are extremely beneficial to their talent, shows and
companies, but, more importantly, they lack the know-how, the expertise, the experience and the time it
takes to get in the game and become a contender.
It's so much more than just filling out an entry form. Who qualifies for what? What awards exist for talent
and shows form all dayparts and genres? What at the deadlines? What other materials, documentation,
fees and information is required to get on a ballot? What are the eligibility requirements?
Having been involved in virtually every award that matters to people in front of and behind the cameras for
more than a combined five decades, awards specialists Kim Reed and Karen Douglass have left their
respective companies to set up a one-stop-shopping agency to fill that very important void in the awards
process. Trust the people who know the awards business, who do this full time and who live and breathe
awards.
The Awards Group has represented individual achievers on both sides of the camera including talent,
producers, production companies and broadcast and cable networks. Clients include:
NBC Entertainment
A&E
The History Channel
WWE
WEtv
Discovery Channel
TLC
Animal Planet
Planet Green

Science Channel
The Awards Group has helped studios such as Universal Media Studios achieve a record number of Emmy
nominations and the Broadway Video television series "30 Rock" smash TV Academy records for Emmy
nominations and wins. TAG has also helped companies with limited or non-existent in-house awards
resources and manpower discover new award opportunities that had not been known or explored before.
The thrill in the awards business, according to Reed and Douglass, is garnering interest for the dark horse
shows that are not the typical slam-dunks. "Once we identify the award possibilities for any given show,
we start an aggressive process to get quality projects and the people who work on them the honor and
accolades they so richly deserve," said Reed and Douglass.
The Awards Group consults, advises, recommends and facilitates complete submission campaigns for not
just the Emmys but literally dozens of award competitions and non-competitive awards that are important
and relevant to a performer, a craftsperson, the specific content of a series or longform project, a
producer, a production company, a studio or a broadcast or cable network. And it's all one-stop shopping
with the premier awards company in the industry.
How important is a nomination or an award to you? We fully understand and appreciate the value of
awards and are dedicated to helping award-worthy projects, individuals and companies take home the
gold.
